Studio notes / About

A publication about paying attention.

Harbor Light Studio publishes practical photography notes for people who would rather understand light than collect equipment. The focus is deliberately narrow: window light, tabletop work, small rooms, color consistency, and files that remain useful years later.

Every guide is written as a repeatable workflow. We separate measurements from preferences, explain the trade-offs behind each setup, and avoid pretending that one camera or one editing style is right for everyone.

The site is independent. It does not sell courses, accept paid placement, or publish disguised affiliate roundups. When a tool is mentioned, it is because the technique requires it, not because a brand paid for the mention.

Four editorial principles

  1. Use the simplest setup that answers the photograph's purpose.
  2. Explain what changes when the room, subject, or weather changes.
  3. Prefer repeatable tests over universal camera-setting recipes.
  4. Keep original files, edits, and delivery exports distinct.
